Member of the Environment and Sustainable Development team. Her professional practice focuses on Environmental law, with more than 10 years of experience in the creation and analysis of environmental legal strategies, identifying and mitigating potential risks of clients from all economic sectors (infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, mining, banking, food and beverage and manufacturing).
With involvement in all aspects of the regulatory requirements and due diligence within the complex environment issues and projects, especially those related to environmental licensing and environmental challenges.

María Alejandra has a Law Degree from Universidad de Rosario (2012) and a Post-graduate degree in Environmental Law from Universidad Externado (2017).
Work Highlights
-Counsel to Brinsa S.A. in the Due diligence process of the environmental files of the Company in order to determine future risks associated to the operations of Brinsa Plant. Additionally, the due diligence allowed Brinsa to discover evidence in relation to the initiation date of the plant and the previous activities develop by Alcalis de Colombia, which brings certainty in some aspects associated to the legal status of the operations.
-Counsel to Bayer S.A., Agrochemical industry in the design of a strategy to authorize the production of agrochemical products, such as glyphosate, through the modification of the environmental license by Resolution 1044 of 2020. The modification of the environmental license was structured in order to make Bayer’s activities more competitive in its plant and respond to the head office´s requirements opportunely.
