Marc is a partner in Bristows commercial IT practice, with 25 years’ experience in technology law, advising businesses on technology issues including cloud computing, the Internet of Things, cyber risk, big data, digital health, artificial intelligence, AdTech, and data protection and security aspects of financial services legislation.
He has particular expertise in data protection and cyber risk and advises companies on their compliance internationally. This includes compliance programs under the EU GDPR, data protection impact assessments, international data transfers including binding corporate rules projects, subject access requests, and projects involving new technologies.
Marc has handled cyber issues for many years, dealing with high profile incidents, misuse of private information and breaches of confidentiality. He regularly defends civil and criminal enforcement actions by the ICO and sometimes the FCA, acts in High Court litigation and devises voluntary redress schemes for affected individuals.
In addition to private practice, Marc was senior in-house counsel at Equifax and went on secondments at Microsoft Corporation.
