Manuel Martínez Ribas is an expert in intellectual property (IP) and information and communication technologies (ICT). He has extensive experience in valuations of intangible elements, including IP and software patents, applying different degrees of legal certainty.
Manuel has worked in various M&A transactions, as well as providing IP advice to more than 500 start-ups and emerging companies. As an expert IT litigation lawyer, his field covers both the protection and leaks of confidential information, data protection, unfair competition, intellectual and industrial property.
Career
Manuel Martínez Ribas holds a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Intellectual Property and Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Barcelona and the UPF.
He began his professional career in 1991, being, at the same time, a manager in the consultancy firm The Information Highway Group where he coordinated several European R&D projects in ICT, as well as a Researcher at IESE Business School until 2001, when he became head of the Digital Law and Technology Department at Baker and McKenzie. In 2006, he co-founded "id-law partners" as a boutique specialised in Intellectual Property and Information Technology. In May 2018, the firm merged with Across Legal, joining as a partner.
