Career

Malcolm Bain is an English lawyer, with a degree in Business Studies from the École Supérieur de Commerce de Paris and a Masters in International Studies (European Law) from the University of Barcelona.

Malcolm Bain began his career in the corporate and commercial law department of Slaughter and May (London) in 1988. Since his arrival in Spain in 1999, he has specialised in intellectual property law and new technologies, with a particular focus on R&D and open source software. Since 2000, he has directed research for the consultancy firm "The Information Highway Group" on the legal aspects of e-commerce, intellectual property and open source software, digital ecosystems and electronic agents, in the context of several European R&D projects.

In 2003 he founded LegisTICs and in 2006 he founded id law partners, a law firm dedicated exclusively to advise on all legal aspects related to Information Technology. In 2018, the firm merged with Across Legal, joining as a partner.
