Mads is head of Wikborg Rein's Competition and Procurement law practice group. He has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of competition law and has previously worked as Legal Director of the Norwegian Competition Authority. Mads is experienced in handling large and complex antitrust cases and has advised clients in numerous cases before the Norwegian and other international competition authorities. He also regularly supports clients in a variety of sectors in obtaining merger control clearances, including in large multi-jurisdictional transactions, as well as being a trusted source of advisory and compliance advice.
Mads has also worked as a judge for many years. During this time he mediated and presided over several hundred cases covering a broad spectrum of legal issues, and he therefore has a particular expertise within civil litigation and dispute resolution. This means that Mads is well placed to provide Norwegian and foreign companies with tailored and commercial advice, in particular in their contact with public authorities and during negotiations and dispute resolution. He also advises public authorities and public entities.
