Luís Fernández Budajir

Luis Fernández Budajir is a Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution Department at Rizek Abogados. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, white-collar crime, criminal law, alternative dispute resolution, and disputes involving significant corporate, regulatory and institutional implications.

He graduated in Law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). He earned a Ph.D. in Law and Political Science (cum laude) from the University of Barcelona and holds LL.M. degrees in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, and in Criminology, Criminal Policy and Security, awarded by the University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra University. He is certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Certified Associate (AMLCA) by the Florida International Bankers Association (FIBA-FIU).

Luis regularly represents multinational corporations, financial institutions, public entities and high-net-worth individuals in complex civil, commercial and criminal disputes. His practice encompasses corporate investigations, white-collar crime, regulatory enforcement proceedings, contentious administrative matters, civil and commercial litigation, arbitration and strategic dispute resolution. He is particularly recognized for advising clients on matters involving significant regulatory, institutional and reputational risk.

In addition to his legal practice, Luis is a Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and a frequent lecturer for leading legal and judicial institutions, including FINJUS, Gaceta Judicial, the National School of the Judiciary, the Association of Commercial Banks and the National School of the Public Prosecutor's Office. He regularly lectures on criminal law, litigation strategy, criminal theory, white-collar crime and administrative sanctioning law.
