Leif Petter Madsen is a Partner at Wikborg Rein's Oslo office. He is heading the Restructuring and Insolvency team. Madsen's areas of expertise includes Insolvency Law, Bankruptcy and Restructuring, Litigation and Dispute Resolution (Litigation/Arbitration).
Madsen has been appointed trustee in several major bankruptcies in Norway the past 25 years. He administered the bankruptcy of Norway's largest and most well-known department store Steen & Strøm.
In 2003-2008, Madsen was appointed trustee in the Finance Credit system, in connection with the largest finance scandal in Norway.
Madsen was adviser to the board in connection with the restructuring of Hansa Property Group ASA in 2009.
From 2011 until 2016 he administered the bankruptcy of Faktor Eiendom ASA with its 50 subsidiaries. In 2015 Madsen was appointed trustee in Sydvaranger Gruve AS. Recent major trustee assignments are the waste management company Veireno AS and jewellery chain Panorama AS. In 2019 Madsen was appointed trustee in the bankruptcy of the biggest Nordic music chain Musical Retail Holding AS "4 Sound".
Since 2016 up until today Madsen has assisted financial institutions and companies with restructuring within supply/oilservice and shipyards.
Madsen has litigated several cases regarding management and auditor responsibilities.
Madsen is admitted to the Supreme Court.
