Koker Christensen is Co-Leader of the firm’s Financial Services Group. He advises businesses in the financial services sector, including insurers, banks, trust companies, credit unions, payments businesses, fintechs and insurtechs. His areas of practice encompass mergers and acquisitions (M&A), reinsurance transactions, regulatory matters, anti-money laundering and corporate governance. He also advises financial institutions on incorporation and licensing.
As part of his practice, Koker frequently deals with the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) and other financial institutions regulators.
Koker is a past member of the Stakeholder Advisory Committee for Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario. He is currently a member of the board of directors of a Canadian chartered bank and Prosper Canada, a national charity dedicated to expanding economic opportunity for Canadians living in poverty.
