Kiran specialises in matters relating to powers of attorney, mental capacity and the Court of Protection. She has experience in advising on the suitability of and drafting a variety of trusts i.e. s89 disabled persons trusts, discretionary trusts, life interest trusts and personal injury bare trusts. Kiran is also a Will drafter specialising in estate planning, probate and estate administration work, dealing with simple and complex estates including estates with cross-border and multi-jurisdictional issues.

Many of Kiran’s clients have lost mental capacity as a result of degenerative brain conditions or have sustained serious brain injuries, as a result of a catastrophic accident or birth trauma. Whether the clients have their own wealth or have received compensation, she manages the funds carefully in order to meet their needs, working with her clients, their families and support teams.

She makes Court of Protection applications on matters ranging from appointing a deputy to complex one-off applications including statutory Wills and gift applications. She also assists with investigating suspected financial abuse of vulnerable individuals and bringing or defending proceedings in the Court of Protection including disputes between property and financial affairs attorneys, contested deputyship applications and misappropriated funds by deputies and attorneys.
