Kiersten heads the Middle East Employment, Pensions & Incentives team and is one of the most pre-eminent employment advisors in the UAE.
Kiersten is a sought-after adviser, speaker and author on all aspects of the employment lifecycle and has particular expertise in high value litigation (she is a registered DIFC Courts practitioner), restrictive covenants and protection of confidential information, senior executive recruitment/termination and the employment law aspects and implications of regulatory contraventions. Kiersten also advises on employee incentives (including bonus/profit share arrangements and gratuity/employee workplace savings solutions) and data protection and privacy.
For over two decades Kiersten has advised internationally on complex contentious and non-contentious matters arising under English employment legislation and under the UAE and freezone-specific legislation. Her work regularly involves multiple jurisdictions throughout the Middle East region and globally, including cross-border employment arrangements, parallel litigation or investigations.
Kiersten was the lead co-author of the Employment Law chapter of LexisNexis Butterworths' ‘Laws of the DIFC’ Volume 1 (Revised) and co-authored the Data Protection Law chapter in Volume 2 of the same series. She was also a key contributor to the seminal text 'Bloch & Brearley: Employment Covenants & Confidential Information – Law, Practice and Technique (4th edition)'.
