Kenneth Hamer is an experienced barrister with wide ranging knowledge of professional regulation and conduct matters. He is an expert in healthcare, legal and accountancy aspects of professional discipline. He regularly advises and represents regulators and practitioners in a range of professional conduct cases, as well as lecturing on fitness to practise processes. Career
Kenneth sits as a Legally Qualified Chairman at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (General Medical Council) and as a legal assessor/legal advisor to the Nursing & Midwifery Council and the General Dental Council. He was on the prosecuting list for the Bar Standards Board for 20 years, was a Recorder of the Crown Court 2000-2018, and is a former chairman of the Appeal Committee of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Publications
He is the author of the leading textbook Professional Conduct Casebook published by Oxford University. He is co-editor of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers' Quarterly Bulletin and has written its Legal Update column since 2002.
