Practice Areas
Karl Guterstam is an expert in dispute resolution with extensive experience of both international and domestic arbitration as well as litigation. He has acted as counsel in disputes before several major arbitration institutes (including SCC, ICC, VIAC and ICSID) as well as ad hoc arbitrations. Karl’s experience as counsel includes, amongst other things, insurance, construction, IT and energy related disputes.
Karl also has extensive experience as arbitrator in both domestic and international cases. He has served as arbitrator in cases in the financial sector, pharmaceutical industry, post-M&A and service sectors as well as arbitrations related to the implication of Russian sanctions.
Moreover, Karl is an active member of several arbitration associations, is a regular speaker on arbitration topics and is the co-author of the commentary to the SCC rules.
