Karin Scherner Aldama focuses her practice on complex insurance recovery matters and represents policyholders with respect to claims involving property, business interruption, general or professional liability, D&O, cyber, and other types of policies. She has successfully obtained coverage for policyholders in situations involving professional liability and cyber claims, and following natural disasters and environmental incidents, including in successful London arbitrations under the Bermuda Form. Karin also has extensive experience with complex commercial and appellate litigation, including in the international context and with respect to cross-border disputes.

In her representation of Fortune 500, large and mid-size companies, and governmental entities, Karin counsels clients operating in a wide range of industries, including utility, hospitality, medical, aerospace, semiconductor, mortgage, and online real estate. In addition to her extensive experience in various state and federal courts, she provides representation in alternative dispute resolution, with an emphasis on international and domestic arbitration. Karin also frequently takes on pro bono immigration cases and represents indigenous detainees in immigration court as well as before the BIA and appellate courts.
