Mr. Machado has solid experience of more than 25 years in administrative law, both in consulting and in litigation, including amparo suits and constitutional disputes. His versatility is based on his knowledge of and fluency in the principles and institutions of administrative and constitutional law. Thus, he has worked in, among other sectors, in environmental, metrology and standardization (NOM's), bidding, concessions, and administrative contracts for purchases and services as well as public works, energy, ports, consumer law, and urban development, all of them related to the relationship between individuals and the government. Juan Pedro combines his professional and academic practice as well as public interest and social capital building causes in his work.

Work Highlights

He has participated in two constitutional controversies before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. In one, representing the municipality of Tulum, regarding a conflict on urban development and natural protected areas; in the second, on behalf of the Senate of the Republic questioning agreements on the equivalence of NOMs.

Advised the National Commission of Hydrocarbons on the legal aspects of the bidding processes for the award of Shared Production Contracts and License Contracts for the Extraction of Hydrocarbons.

Provided legal advice for the submission of an environmentally sustainable and legally compliant project for the development of residences on the outskirts of the resort towns of Avándaro and Valle de Bravo.

Provides legal advice on the still underdeveloped Mexican legal framework on online marketplaces.

Develops litigious strategies for the legal defence of Oil&Gas companies in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.
