Juan Eduardo is a founding partner of our Firm, and heads the Financial, Capital Markets and Alternative Assets area.

As one of the leaders in the area, his practice is mainly focused on the structuring of project financing, particularly real estate, as well as the search for various forms of capital raising, restructuring of liabilities through credit operations in its different modalities, leasing, syndicated loans, investment funds or others.

For more than 20 years, he has advised the most important life insurance companies in the market and other institutional investors on real estate investments. His extensive experience in these matters have positioned him as a relevant legal actor in advising related to new forms of investment, such as alternative assets, which combine real estate, capital and private debt.

Career

Lawyer, with a Law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1992).

He was solicitor for the Banco the Chile Attorney’s Office.

Advised Metlife Chile in the refinancing of Inmobiliaria Su Casa, a real estate company that sells large residential towers in the center of Santiago through a mutual with a mortgage guarantee (USD 65.122.331.000).

Advised Principal Compañía de Seguros de Vida in the refinancing of Megacentro San Pedro, to a company with extensive experience in warehousing materialized through a mutual with a mortgage guarantee of all the warehouse (USD 17.896.214.980).

Advised Metlife Chile Seguros de Vida in a new financing for Grupo Patio, a company that exploits and develops commercial real estate assets, in a complex operation of real estate leasing (USD 25.057.962).

Advised Metlife Chile Seguros de Vida in a new financing for general purposes of Hoteles Chile, a company of the Marriot chain that operates in Chile through a mutual with a mortgage guarantee (USD 16.051.774.560).

Advised Zurich Chile Seguros de Vida in a Real estate financing operation for Grupo Araucana, a company that exploits and develops commercial real estate assets (USD 13.376.478.800).

Advised Zurich Chile Seguros de Vida in the financing in a leasing operation, of the company Rentas Strip Boulevard Montemar with the objective of financing the construction of the Strip Boulevard Montemar Shopping Center, located in the commune of Cocon, Viña del Mar (USD 8.612.312).
