Career

José María Michavila, founding partner of MA Abogados, brings over thirty years of experience as a lawyer and law professor.

He founded his own law firm specializing in financial, banking, and stock market law, while also serving as a full professor of Administrative Law at the Complutense University of Madrid.

Starting from 1993, he dedicated his life to politics, focusing on his role as a deputy of the Partido Popular. He served in the Government of Spain for eight years.

After leaving active politics, he founded the MA Abogados Law Firm in November 2009, later joined by Ángel Acebes.

Member of the Bar Association of Madrid.

Member of the Royal Academy of Legislation and Jurisprudence.

Secretary General of the ALAS Foundation aimed at fighting poverty in Latin America, especially in childhood.

Member of the Advisory Board of the Executive Program at Harvard.

Publications

He is the author of numerous publications in various administrative law journals such as the Spanish Journal of Administrative Law (REDA) and in the Spanish journal of banking and stock market law.

In 1992, he published a manual on banking law with other experts.
