Jonathan S. Deem is the Practice Group Leader of Bailey Glasser's Corporate Practice Group, where he skillfully manages major mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate transactions, commercial litigation, financial services, corporate finance, and entrepreneurial transactions. Jonathan represents clients in the natural resources, technology, real estate, and financial services industries, and is praised for his practical legal advice, efficiency, and dedication to their matters. Jonathan has been recognized by Chambers USA since 2019.
Jonathan is on the cutting edge of corporate deals involving using former coal mines for renewable energy. Another piece of his impactful work was serving as a special advisor to West Virginia Governor Jim Justice on matters regarding the CARES Act throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Before joining Bailey & Glasser, Jonathan was General Counsel to former West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin and was Manchin’s first Chief of Staff upon his election to the U.S. Senate.
