John Stern

John Stern represents clients on all types of real estate matters, with a particular focus on the utilization of federal and state tax credits to develop affordable housing and to adaptively reuse historic buildings. He routinely structures transactions involving state and federal tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, and tax increment financing; he also helps clients obtain construction financing, permanent financing, debt facilities, and bridge financing; navigate state and federal government grant and loan programs; assemble and develop land; acquire debt and equity interests in troubled real estate assets; and more. John also counsel clients on the development of multifamily housing, senior housing, and mixed-use developments that include residential, hotel, office, and/or retail space, often involving the use of state or local incentives.
