Partner in the International Arbitration and Public International Law practices.
Advises and represents companies, State-owned entities and States in investment treaty and commercial arbitrations conducted under most major institutional rules, including the ICSID, ICC, LCIA, SCC and Swiss Rules, and in ad hoc arbitrations, with a particular focus on investment and energy disputes in emerging markets. Has notably participated in several of the largest international disputes submitted to arbitration, securing historic victories for the firm’s clients. Experience covers a wide range of industry sectors and types of disputes, including energy (oil and gas, power, nuclear, renewables), mining and metals, banking and finance, infrastructure/transportation and construction, as well as disputes arising from business combination transactions (mergers & acquisitions and joint ventures) and general commercial matters.
Member of the ICC Task Force on addressing issues of corruption in international arbitration, and an Australian Government Delegate to the UNCITRAL Working Group II on Arbitration and Conciliation.
