Jamie Clarke

Jamie Clarke has +25 years’ experience in his core practice areas of catastrophic/utmost severity personal injury, fatal accidents, and industrial disease (including asbestos, NIHL, HAVS, workplace cancers). Principally acting for insurers, Jamie has a reputation for successfully defending liability and quantum through to trial, and also for adept representation at ADR. Particular specialisms include workplace stress, care home incidents, historic sexual abuse, on-field sports injuries, responding to complex fatal accident valuations, acting for historic insurers in mesothelioma, complex motor reconstruction and coverage, responding to the full range of claims for chronic pain syndromes, Animal Act, and general EL / PL.

2023/24 saw landmark successes for Jamie in the High Court in the on-field rugby injury case of Elbanna v Clark and in the Court of Appeal in Holmes v Poeton Plc, which resolved the law concerning material contribution.

Appointed by the Attorney General to London A-Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown from 1/9/24, Yarmouth Harbour Commissioner (non-exec role), Council Member (Board Director) Incorporated Council of Law Reporting, Lay Member, London Borough of Lambeth Independent Education Appeal Panel, PIBA executive committee, Panel Reviewer for Advocate (the Bar’s pro bono charity), Advocacy trainer, Gray’s Inn Former elected member Gray’s Inn Barristers’ Committee.
