Andrew specialises in high value, complex litigation/international arbitration in the fields of construction, energy, insurance and reinsurance, professional liability, property damage, commercial and conflicts of laws.

He is familiar with a wide range of arbitral rules, including ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, EDF and LMAA, and has acted in claims concerning projects and risks in Hong Kong, the US, the Caribbean, Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, Turkey, the Indian Sub-continent and the UK. He has extensive experience of disputes relating to projects in the Middle East, including the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and of civil law systems in the Middle East.

He has wide knowledge of standard forms, including FIDIC, JCT, ICE, GC Works, NEC, IChemE, PPC, TPC, ACA and RIBA.

His construction/energy work includes airports, power stations, ports, shipbuilding, hotels, roads, rail, tram/metro systems, process plants, oil and gas, pipelines, subsea pipelines, FPSOs, water treatment/sewerage plants and renewables.

His insurance work includes CAR/EAR policies (including DE/LEG clauses), property risks, BI, PL, EL, PI and product liability policies, including coverage, fraud, non-disclosure, misrepresentation, moral hazard and co-insurance issues. Andrew acted for Zurich in the Supreme Court in the FCA Test Case [2021] AC 649 and for Insurers in the Court of Appeal in the leading case of Sky & Mace v Riverstone [2025] Lloyd’s Rep IR 157.
