James has acted in numerous high-profile litigation, arbitration, and mediation matters involving a wide range of issues, including shareholder disputes, regulatory investigations, fraud and asset recovery, contractual and tortious claims, and construction disputes.

In a landmark decision handed down by the High Court in late December 2025, James and his team successfully secured a judgment in excess of $1 billion for a client against a billionaire in a case which has lasted for 6 years.

Career

James frequently represents major banking and financial institutions, listed companies, construction firms, and large corporations in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and internationally in complex litigation proceedings. Drawing on his extensive background in construction law, he also possesses substantial experience in advising developers, main contractors, and sub-contractors on construction-related disputes.

Personal

James serves as legal advisor to Lee Man Football Club and the Hong Kong Football Coaches Federation.

He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
