He is frequently called upon to act in taxi licensing disputes and has further expertise in gambling and wildlife issues. Findlay practises in both England and Scotland.

Recent work: Acted for the London Borough of Waltham Forest in a housing licensing case in the Upper Tribunal. The case concerned a landlord who had lied about obtaining gas certificates and been fined for so doing and raised the question of whether the local authority could take into account her conduct even though the convictions were spent.
