Ivan Ikrényi

Practice Areas

Ivan specialises in insolvency law, bankruptcy and restructuring, including European and international insolvency law. His areas of expertise additionally include business and media law, protection of personality and reputation, and litigation. Ivan is a bankruptcy and restructuring administrator and a member of INSOL Europe. In 2016, Ivan became a fellow of INSOL International – the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals. Also in 2016, he became the only Slovak member of CERIL (Conference of European Restructuring and Insolvency Law) – an independent non-profit organisation of practitioners and judges specialising in restructuring and insolvency in the EU, membership of which is by invitation only. Ivan regularly speaks at conferences and publishes actively as a member of a number of foreign working groups focusing on the harmonisation of European insolvency law. He is the author of approximately twenty professional articles and studies, author of the Commentary to the EU Insolvency regulation (C.H.BECK, 2020), co-author of the Commentary to the Law on free access to information (Wolters Kluwer, 2015) and co-author of the Commentary to the Law on free access to information (C.H.BECK, 2023). He speaks Slovak, English, Hungarian, German and limited Arabic.
