Pryor Cashman Partner Ilene S. Farkas, co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Group, for 30+ years has represented content owners and creators on all aspects of intellectual property matters, including copyright and trademark counseling and litigation in disputes involving the music, film, theatre, media, and publishing industries.

Ilene’s impressive client list includes Sony Music Publishing, EMI Music Publishing, Warner Music Group, Kobalt, BMG Rights Management, UMG Recordings, and their rosters of artists, songwriters, and producers. She advises them on issues including copyright ownership, co-authorship, infringement, publishing and royalty disputes, the applicability of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)’s safe harbor defense and First Amendment issues. Ilene has also represented Netflix on several disputes involving content-related intellectual property and First Amendment issues.
