Career

Hope V. Shovein has built her career at Brooks Kushman, where she has spent more than two decades advising clients on trademark and intellectual property matters and currently serves as a Shareholder and Co-Chair of the Trademark Practice. She joined the firm early in her career and has grown into a leadership role, overseeing trademark strategy, portfolio management, and enforcement efforts for clients across a wide range of industries.

Prior to joining Brooks Kushman, Hope gained in-house experience within the intellectual property department of a major automotive company. This early experience provided her with a strong foundation in both domestic and international trademark law and continues to shape her practical, business-oriented approach. She understands the internal pressures faced by in-house counsel and provides guidance that is efficient, targeted, and aligned with broader commercial objectives.

Over the course of her career, Hope has developed deep experience managing complex trademark portfolios and advising both domestic and multinational clients on brand protection strategies. She works closely with legal and business teams to deliver solutions that address legal risk while supporting business growth. In addition to her client work, she plays an active role in leading and developing the firm’s trademark practice and mentoring attorneys, contributing to the continued strength and expansion of the team.
