Career
Hallvard is part of Schjødt's dispute resolution department and specialises in litigation and arbitration. He has extensive litigation experience across several areas of law, including Energy Law, Shipping & Offshore, Contract/Construction Law, and Public/Administrative Law.
In addition to handling disputes, Hallvard also gives advice and counselling on regulatory matters, particularly within the renewable sector (onshore and offshore). He is responsible for the Karnov law commentary on the Offshore Energy Act and is a member of the Norwegian Bar Association's law committee on energy law, hydropower and oil&gas. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of Norway, where he has litigated cases on topics such as Damages, Public/procedural Law, Human Rights Law and Energy Taxation.
Hallvard has been a research assistant at the Department of Petroleum and Energy Law at the University of Oslo. Before joining Schjødt, he worked at the Office of the Attorney General, representing the Norwegian government in numerous litigation cases. Hallvard has also worked as a deputy judge.
