George specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration and was nominated as Barrister of the Year by the Lawyer in 2024. He has particular experience of high-value international and cross-border work, acting as KC in a number of the most high-profile matters currently in the courts or before tribunals (for example acting successfully for the claimants in Suppipat v Others - a civil fraud trial heard in the Commercial Court in 2023 over the course of 20 weeks, acting successfully for Nissan v Carlos Ghosn in the BVI in 2024 and acting for Zeph in ongoing investment arbitrations against Australia). He has been instructed to appear or advise in cases in a range of jurisdictions in recent years including BVI, Trinidad, Dubai, Oman, Hong Kong and Singapore. In terms of arbitral experience George acts in both commercial and investor-state disputes and also accepts appointments as arbitrator - having acted as sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in LCIA, ICC and ICAC arbitrations. He is on the Executive Committee of the Commercial Bar Association, the LCIA European Users Council and is a member of the LCIA Court.
