Siân has a wide-ranging commercial practice including professional liability, construction/engineering/energy, insurance, reinsurance, regulatory and property damage. Her science background has led to a particular interest in disputes involving construction/engineering, IT, technical and scientific elements and regulatory/experimental product testing claims. Siân is experienced in court proceedings, arbitrations, adjudications, tribunals and mediations and is often instructed for coverage and indemnity disputes, insolvency, fraud and dishonesty matters.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a TECBAR accredited adjudicator, prior to taking silk in 2019 Siân was acclaimed in the directories as a Leading Junior in three fields: Construction, Professional Negligence and Disciplinary, and won Chambers & Partners’ Professional Negligence Junior award in 2015.

Now a highly sought after silk for her phenomenal work ethic, commercial approach and ability to ‘cover all the bases’ Siân regularly deals with high value, complex, multi-party professional liability claims & arbitrations involving construction/infrastructure & engineering, construction professionals, surveyors/valuers, lawyers, accountants/tax advisers/auditors, financial services professionals/insolvency practitioners/administrative receivers, insurance brokers, land, management & estate agents.

Career

Qualified from Cambridge University as a veterinary surgeon in 1992, Siân worked as a veterinary surgeon before attending City University (CPE) and the Inns of Court (BVC), coming to the Bar in 1997, and taking silk in 2019.
