Gary’s specialist legal portfolio means that he is often instructed to defend ultra-high net worth individuals who have complex, multi-jurisdictional financial arrangements, CEOs, company members, lawyers and accountants, together with public figures including politicians, celebrities and professional sports persons (in particular, football, cricket and rugby). Gary’s work, by its nature, is very high profile and receives national and international press. Gary is acknowledged for his expertise in dealing with management of reputation issues and crisis management of individuals and companies.
Gary's current investigatory instructions include advising individuals in a number of Serious Fraud Office matters for fraud, bribery and corruption in both the UK and overseas. In addition, Gary is regularly instructed by individuals to act on their behalf at interviews under caution and at court should the matter continue.
Gary is also instructed as the principal solicitor in a quasi-public enquiry to defend a high ranking military officer who was under investigation for war crimes arising from the Iraq War.
Gary’s regulatory instructions include advising both solicitors and accountants before their respective professional organisations, advising a corporate in relation to CMA matters and compliance and advising in a number of Health and Safety Corporate Manslaughter matters.
