Fozeia acts for both international and local clients in a wide range of complex disputes including corporate, banking, insurance, employment/immigration, insolvency and high-value trust litigation cases. She routinely advises and gives presentations on topical issues for the banking, insurance, trust and private client sectors in Bermuda. She also has a successful mediation practice and is the leader of the Bermuda Business Development Agency Trust & Private Client Group Executive.

Experience

Fozeia is the Managing Partner of MJM and Head of MJM’s Dispute Resolution Team. She is widely recognised as one of Bermuda’s leading litigators, advising on complex, high-value disputes with a particular focus on contentious trusts, commercial litigation and regulatory matters. Her practice includes advising trustees, beneficiaries, financial institutions, insurers/reinsurers and corporate clients on matters often involving cross-border elements and high levels of scrutiny. In addition to acting in litigation, she works closely with clients on dispute strategy, including managing risk, and navigating regulatory issues.

Fozeia has over 20 years’ experience advising on disputes where legal complexity, commercial pressure and personal dynamics intersect and her practice spans multi-jurisdictional trust disputes, corporate and shareholder litigation, and banking and insurance-related disputes. She is regularly instructed in matters involving significant financial exposure, reputational sensitivity and cross-border elements. She began her career in London undertaking insurance and shipping litigation and continues to advise insurers and financial institutions on a range of contentious and strategic matters.

She is known for her ability to distil complex legal and factual issues into clear, strategic advice, combining technical expertise with strong commercial judgement. Her approach is particularly valued in contentious trust matters, where she brings sensitivity to family and governance dynamics alongside legal strategy. She is also actively involved in the development of Bermuda’s legal framework and serves as Chair of the Bermuda Business Development Agency Trust Law Reform Committee.
