Flavia Amaral is a partner in the IP Tech group at Trench Rossi Watanabe, with a distinguished practice spanning data protection, technology, intellectual property, cybersecurity and franchising. She advises Brazilian and international clients on strategic matters involving data governance, regulatory compliance supervised by the ANPD, complex technology models and contracts, intellectual property licensing, and franchising structures in Brazil and abroad.

She has extensive experience in sophisticated data protection and technology matters, including strategic data governance and regulatory compliance projects, investigations and security incidents supervised by the ANPD, complex technology operations, and privacy-related aspects of M&A transactions involving digital assets and intellectual property. Her practice also covers trade secret protection, ownership of creations developed by employees and contractors, intercompany flows, royalty structures and broader IP strategy in transactional contexts. She represents Brazilian and foreign clients across a broad range of sectors, including fashion and luxury, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, electronics, retail, hospitality, automotive, entertainment, digital media and consumer goods.

Personal

Flavia Amaral holds a law degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a postgraduate degree in Civil Procedural Law from Cândido Mendes University, and a specialization in Corporate Law and Capital Markets from Fundação Getulio Vargas. She also holds the CIPM and CDPO/BR certifications granted by the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals).

Activities outside the office

Flavia Amaral coordinates the Intellectual Property, Franchising and Fashion Law Unit of the Italo-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (Italcam). She is also a full member and secretary of the OAB/SP Special Franchising Committee, and teaches in the postgraduate specialization course of the Escola Superior de Advocacia da OAB/SP (ESA), in the areas of Intellectual Property, Entertainment, Media and Fashion Law.
