Career
Alvaro Schmidt Gallo Neto joined the Firm in 1998. He is a partner in the Transactional practice group, with focus on Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions and also co-leads the Agribusiness industry group. Alvaro has a wide breadth of experience in advising clients on acquisition and joint venture operations in the most diverse areas of industry and business, such as agribusiness, chemicals, port terminals (including storage of liquid and solid bulk), transport and logistics services, food and information and communication technology.

Author/co-author of several books/articles, such as:
- Article about Compliance in the agribusiness sector (publication "Law, Ethics and Compliance - LEC");
- Article about Perspectives and Expectations in relation to the agribusiness in Brazil;
- Coauthor on the book Estudos de Direito do Agronegócio, with the chapter titled "Mergers and Acquisitions in the Agribusiness"
Personal
He holds a law degree from the Universidade Católica de Santos, a Master's degree in Comparative Law from the University of Miami School of Law, and specialized in Business Law by the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of São Paulo.
Clients
Participation in several relevant projects involving acquisition or sale of companies or commercial / industrial businesses and related assets, including the preparation and negotiation of related transaction agreements.
Large experience in advising clients in acquisition and joint venture operations involving the most variable areas of industry and/or business, such as (i) agribusiness, (ii) chemicals, (iii) independent tank storage (liquid and dry bulk) port terminals, (iv) transportation and logistics services, (v) food, and (vi) ICT.
In the agribusiness sector, Mr. Gallo has been helping to structure M&A transactions for several clients, such as commodities trading companies, soybean oil processing industries, meat packing plants, agricultural production companies, and sugar and biofuel (sugarcane or corn) mills (either operating facilities or greenfield projects), and forestry and agri companies and businesses in general.
