Practice Areas

Fiona advises clients on a range of complex, sensitive and high value employment matters, combining expertise, market knowledge and common sense to provide strategic, pragmatic and commercial solutions.

Fiona is a member of the firm’s Governance and Culture Advisory Team (GCAT) which advises firms and their boards on all aspects of corporate governance, conduct, culture, remuneration and risk.

She specialises in advising financial institutions on all employment matters, including: complex litigation in the High Court and the Employment Tribunal; investigations and disciplinary matters; regulatory issues, including the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR); and international projects. Fiona is praised by independent legal directories for her specific “expertise advising clients in the financial services sector on multi-jurisdictional matters, as well as high-profile High Court proceedings”.

Fiona also advises on non-contentious matters, including: employment contracts and bonus arrangements; senior and executive-level appointments and terminations; complex change projects, including domestic and international outsourcings and TUPE; internal grievances, investigations and disciplinaries; and individual and collective redundancies.

Fiona regularly publishes articles and delivers training and seminars on the HR and employment aspects of the SMCR, including for bodies such as the Building Societies Association and the Association of Foreign Banks. She is the co-author of "The Senior Managers and Certification Regime and Remuneration in Financial Services Firms" published in Tolleys online Employment and Personnel Procedures Manual, May 2017.
