Evan Lam is a partner in our financial regulation practice. His work in derivatives includes structuring, negotiating and advising on OTC derivatives contracts. Having acted as Singapore counsel to ISDA for years, he has worked alongside ISDA to steer the Singapore derivatives market through regulatory and legal reforms, including the implementation of the G20 OTC derivatives reforms and the overhaul of Singapore’s insolvency and restructuring framework. He has extensive experience in negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and advising on netting, collateral and resolution issues.
Additionally, he has over 12 years of experience in advising clients on Singapore financial regulations, OTC derivatives and FinTech. He has particular experience in assisting financial institutions with navigating Singapore's licensing and regulatory landscape, and assisting clients with structuring their businesses and products. His clients include large global banks such as Goldman Sachs, ANZ, DBS, OCBC, Nomura, Bank of New York Mellon and Bank of America, broker dealers and market makers such as Tiger Brokers and Optiver, crowd funding platforms such as Funding Societies and Crowd Genie, amongst others.
He is admitted as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore.
