Advocate Emma Wakeling specialises in family law and also advises on wills, estate matters and accepts instructions in criminal proceedings.She joined Ardent Chambers in 2025.
Emma returned to Jersey in 2009 following her Call to the English Bar (non-practising) and worked at Ogier before moving to BCR Law in 2017, where she was made Partner in January 2019.
Emma advises on all aspects of family law including divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, financial settlements, separation agreements and pre- and post-nuptial agreements. Emma has a particular interest in resolving disputes concerning children. She is appointed to the Children Panel through which she is accredited to represent parents and children in proceedings instigated by the Minister for Children and Families. Emma has also been appointed as amicus curiae to assist the Royal Court.
Emma is known for her sensitive yet pragmatic approach. She has been listed in eprivateclient’s Top 35 under 35 for both the UK and Channel Islands. Emma is listed in the Legal 500 as a “Leading Partner” for family law.
