Eko Basyuni

Eko is a partner at Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP) and serves as Co‑Head of the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions practice, as well as Head of the firm’s China and Japan Desk. With more than two decades of experience, he advises on complex corporate and cross‑border transactions, with a particular focus on strategic investments and transformational deals.

Prior to joining AHP, Eko served as legal counsel at a key Indonesian financial institution, where he gained extensive experience in regulatory matters, financial transactions, and stakeholder‑driven advisory work. This background continues to inform his commercial and pragmatic approach to transaction structuring and regulatory risk management.

His practice covers public and private M&A, joint ventures, foreign direct investment, corporate structuring and restructuring, and regulatory advisory across a broad range of industries, including energy, mining, banking and finance, retail, F&B, telecommunications, infrastructure, and technology. Through the China and Japan Desk, he frequently advises clients on inbound and outbound investments involving these markets.
