Edward has expertise in catastrophic injury, clinical negligence, family disputes, and the Court of Protection. Edward is on the Attorney General’s Panel of Counsel (B Civil).
Edward’s negligence practice involves cerebral palsy claims and catastrophic injury. Edward is sought out by solicitors on issues relating to capacity and the Court of Protection in civil proceedings. Edward is currently acting on behalf of numerous victims of the Grenfell Fire. Edward also has a thriving professional negligence practice that includes claims arising out of family proceedings.
Edward’s children practice has an international focus. He has appeared in 4 important and reported cases in the past year. He deals with all elements flowing from relationship breakdown: international relocation; abduction; schooling and child arrangements. As part of his public law work, he appears in cases involving complicated safeguarding issues ranging from child trafficking; terrorism; sexual, physical and emotional abuse; domestic abuse; coercive control and the causation of serious and fatal injuries to children.
His Court of Protection work spans both welfare and finances. Edward’s case load involves withdrawal of artificial nutrition; placement of young adults; consent to sexual relations; declarations on medical treatment and issues relating to deputyship and LPAs.
