Practice Areas

David has almost 40 years of experience litigating complex commercial cases of all types in state and federal court, as well as in arbitration. David obtained a $67 million jury verdict after a lengthy federal trial in Coquina Investments v. TD Bank. In a landmark decision, the jury found that TD Bank had defrauded investors caught up in the Scott Rothstein Ponzi scheme. At the time, the verdict was the largest federal jury award in Florida. The case was later affirmed in all respects by the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. David has represented numerous clients in litigation involving business torts, contract disputes, securities law violations, class actions, partnership issues, real estate issues, employment matters, RICO, receiverships, government investigations and white collar criminal matters. David was also recently appointed by the Court as an Examiner in litigation involving an airline.

Career

In addition to his court practice, David is often asked to serve as either an arbitrator or advocate in international arbitration matters and to serve as an expert on attorneys’ fees issues. Additionally, David has given several lectures on Federal Discovery Practice at the University of Miami Law School.

Professional Memberships

David a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Miami International Arbitration Society, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the Miami-Dade Bar Association.

Personal

David has a commercial pilot's license and currently flies a Piper Meridian turboprop aircraft.
