David is a senior capital markets partner who has been advising on structured derivatives and capital markets transactions for over 20 years. He uses his extensive experience to unpack the legal and commercial issues inherent within structures and he enjoys problem-solving collaboratively with his clients. David’s clients include financial institutions, corporates and insurance companies.

David has advised on OTC and securitised derivatives across the range of asset classes, including rates, credit, equities and longevity. He covers a variety of products, for both institutional and retail investment. These products include repackaging note transactions, bank-issued structured products, securities financing transactions, synthetic risk transfer structures, sustainable finance-linked products and many bespoke SPV-based structures. These transactions, products and structures are typically cross-border, allowing David to offer clients the benefits of the firm’s global reach to achieve their objectives.

David has also helped drive the continued innovation of the repackaging market, acting for the founding dealers on the establishment of the market-leading multi-dealer SPIRE platform in 2016 and continuing to advise the dealer group in connection with the platform’s ongoing development.

David also advises a number of dealers on their proprietary repackaging and structured products programmes and bespoke SPV-based transactions, including loan repackaging and social/governance financing wrapped structures.
