David Phillips

David leads the Structured Solutions team in London, where he has established himself as a pre-eminent adviser on complex financing transactions across the full spectrum of asset classes—including rates, credit, equities and longevity—structured in both OTC and securitised derivatives formats.

David's twenty-five years of practice spans a sophisticated range of products and structures: repackaging note transactions, bank-issued structured products, securities financing transactions, synthetic risk transfer structures, and sustainable finance-linked products. He regularly advises on bespoke SPV-based structures, including credit insurance-wrapped trades, bringing technical excellence to each mandate. The inherently cross-border nature of these transactions enables David to leverage the firm's global platform, delivering seamless multi-jurisdictional solutions that meet clients' strategic objectives.

Beyond his client work, David has been instrumental in driving market innovation. He acted for the founding dealers on the establishment of SPIRE—the market-leading multi-dealer platform launched in 2016—and continues to advise the dealer group on the platform's ongoing evolution, cementing his role as a key architect of the modern repackaging market.
