Daniel Bugbee is a founding partner of DBS Law in Seattle, Washington, where his practice focuses on insolvency and restructuring, commercial finance, creditors' rights, receiverships, bankruptcy litigation, commercial litigation, and business transactions. Dan is particularly recognized for his work in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, where he regularly advises secured and unsecured creditors, debtors, court-appointed receivers, trustees, and purchasers of distressed assets. He has substantial experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies, state and federal receiverships, loan workouts, foreclosure proceedings, Uniform Commercial Code remedies, and complex creditor-debtor disputes. He also counsels lenders and businesses in structuring, documenting, and enforcing commercial lending transactions.
In addition to his insolvency practice, Daniel represents clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, partnership and shareholder disputes, real estate litigation, and related claims. His practical, business-focused approach allows clients to navigate challenging situations while protecting their legal and financial interests.
Dan frequently serves as counsel to court-appointed receivers and fiduciaries and has been involved in the administration, preservation, sale, and liquidation of distressed businesses and assets across numerous industries. Clients value his ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems, manage high-stakes disputes efficiently, and achieve favorable outcomes in both litigation and transactional settings.
