CLIFF VRIELINK has over 25 years of experience advising private equity, infrastructure funds and other financial investors, public companies and private companies investing in infrastructure assets. He has particular expertise across the energy industry, ranging from traditional fossil fuels (upstream and midstream oil and gas, as well as downstream refining, marketing and distribution) to power and renewables transactions (thermal, wind and solar power) to energy transition (battery storage, CO2, carbon capture and other emerging areas). Cliff has also represented numerous clients in the digital media space. These matters include data centers, cell towers, fiber networks, subsea cables and other digital infrastructure. Cliff has also represented clients investing in other types of infrastructure, including cold storage, short line rail and waste. Cliff has represented clients throughout North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe.
Cliff is a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee, serves as co-managing partner of Sidley’s Houston office and is the global leader of the Energy and Infrastructure practice. He is a member of the firm’s M&A and Private Equity practices.
