Claudio Giordano

Practice Areas

Claudio Giordano is the Head of NUNZIANTE MAGRONE's Tax Department where he provides counsel on a range of domestic, EU and international taxation matters.

He is especially well-known for counsel on double taxation, transfer pricing and permanent establishment issues, tax implications of domestic and cross-border restructurings, and VAT aspects of international commerce.

Claudio assists clients with APAs and other ruling procedures. He can also advise and support clients in adopting a tax control framework as well as participating in cooperative compliance programmes, and managing tax risks.

Claudio also has a wealth of knowledge in reference to providing counsel to family businesses on succession planning, corporate governance, and the safeguarding of family wealth.

This is in addition to his vast experience of tax litigation where he can represent clients both before the tax authorities in settlement procedures available to prevent tax litigation and before the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation and the European Court of Justice. In addition, Claudio assists clients with MAPs and transfer pricing arbitration procedures.

Claudio has launched and is a member of the firm's French-speaking cross-department which provides multi-practice assistance in French language.

Since 2005 he has been promoting a European study group of leading VAT experts from independent law firms.

Claudio is lecturer of the Master in Tax Law, Accounting and Tax Planning at the LUISS Business School.

He has served as a monocratic supervisory board member and as non-executive member of boards of directors for several private companies.
