Claire is a partner in our Energy, Resources and Infrastructure group. She specialises in the mining and resources sectors and land access. Claire has over 25 years’ experience advising on all aspects of mining, energy and resources projects from acquisition, structuring and development, through to the ongoing operation and divestment of projects. Claire has particular expertise with farm-in arrangements and joint ventures, two of the most commonly used structures for mining assets in Australia. She has advised on projects across all commodities and all states and territories.
Claire also provides advice on regulatory compliance, approvals, tenure and land access matters. She has considerable experience with both mining and Crown land tenure, including state agreements, and regularly assists clients with complex tenure and land access issues.
Claire is a member of The Energy and Resources Law Association (formerly AMPLA) and was involved in the development of the AMPLA model production joint venture agreement, the model framework royalty deed and the model access agreements for Western Australia. She is also a member of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) and sits on both the Mining Legislation Committee and the Corporate Regulation & Taxation Committee.
