Chris has extensive experience with construction disputes across Canada. He acts for both project owners and contractors across various industries, including energy, power, mining, renewable energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and telecommunications. Chris has a wide range of experience with the types of disputes that can arise during construction projects, such as project delay, cost overruns, engineering errors and omissions, equipment defects, site conditions, warranty claims, loss of productivity claims, force majeure, change order claims, audit claims, suspension and termination, builders' liens, and many other types of construction disputes.
Chris has represented clients in construction disputes in various Canadian courts, including the courts of Alberta, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories. He also has an extensive arbitration practice across Canada and internationally. He represents clients in large, complex domestic and international construction arbitrations under multiple procedural regimes, such as UNCITRAL, the International Court of Commerce (ICC), the International Bar Association (IBA) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
Career
Admitted to the bar of Alberta (2007), Northwest Territories (2016), and Manitoba (2020).
Chris is also a Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers in recognition of his expertise in the area of construction law disputes. Further, he is an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association Construction Law Section - Alberta South and regularly speaks and writes on a variety of energy and construction litigation issues.
