Christina Rydell Ahlström is the head of the firm’s Environmental and Energy department and has more than fifteen years of experience providing environmental and energy law advice to Swedish and international companies and municipalities.
Christina advises clients on a wide range of environmental matters. She is frequently retained in environmental permit proceedings and other regulatory matters required for various operations or infrastructural projects such as waterworks, protected species, protected areas, and remediation. Furthermore, Christina regularly assists clients on a day-to-day basis with issues relating to environmental permits, supervision, and environmental liability. She is also involved in transactions and contract negotiations covering different aspects of environmental law.
Her area of expertise also includes matters relating to liability for contaminated land. She is often engaged by companies and property owners in matters of liability and legal proceedings.
During her years working as a lawyer, she has developed a particular interest and expertise within the energy sector. She works with many of the leading national and international companies within the renewable industry (i.e. hydropower, wind power, solar power) on matters related to environmental permit procedures and other energy law matters. She also assists with due diligence before acquisition of renewable assets and risk assessment in such transactions.
Christina is regularly engaged as a lecturer and as an author, writing articles in the field of environmental law. Christina is a member of the national board of the national organization “Nätverket Renare Mark”, focusing on contaminated land issues.
