Christian Castella Hammerstein

Christian has over 25 years of experience handling complex, high-value commercial disputes before both national courts and arbitral tribunals. His practice focuses on contractual litigation, including disputes arising from M&A transactions, financial conflicts, and damages claims. He is also highly experienced in matters involving unfair competition, insurance claims, and damages resulting from breaches of competition law, as well as a broad range of commercial agreements, with particular emphasis on distribution and agency arrangements.

In addition to his disputes practice, Christian regularly advises clients on the mitigation of commercial risk, the drafting and negotiation of contracts, and cross-border or multi-jurisdictional legal issues.

Prior to joining SLJ Abogados, Christian was a Partner and Co-Head of the Litigation Department at RSM Spain from 2016 to 2024. He previously spent 14 years in the Dispute Resolution Department at Freshfields.
