Chelsea Martin

Chelsea specialises in advising family and owner-managed businesses on their estate planning. She often acts for multiple generations and branches of the same family.

Chelsea’s work includes but is not limited to: advising high net worth clients on lifetime planning using trusts and outright gifts; supporting business owners on their succession planning and inheritance tax reliefs; drafting complex Wills with bespoke provisions tailored to diverse client needs; complex trust advisory work, including advice on the creation, re-structuring and termination of trusts, and the capital tax implications.

Chelsea trained at IBB Solicitors and qualified as a solicitor in 2014. Chelsea joined Wrigleys in 2019. From 2020 to 2023 she served as a trainee supervisor, and was promoted to Partner in 2023. Chelsea sits on the Precedents Committee and has led the team’s approach to advising clients with business or agricultural assets after the October 2024 inheritance tax changes.

Chelsea was a trustee of Older Citizens Advocacy York (OCAY) for five years until 2023. She is about to be appointed as a trustee of Leeds Museums and Galleries Development Trust in February 2026.
