Career

Charlie is the leader of Dickinson Wright's Political Law practice. Named by Politico magazine in 2015 as a “visionary transforming American politics,” Charlie counsels a broad range of corporations, organizations, and candidates confronting challenges and opportunities at the intersection of political and issue campaigns, government ethics and investigations, law and public policy. Charlie has successfully litigated high profile First Amendment and election law issues nationally and serves as counsel to officeholders, campaigns, super PACs, trade associations, corporations and organizations. He is currently outside counsel to the Republican Attorneys General Association and has served as Chief Counsel for the RNC, Counsel for multiple Presidential campaigns, United States Senators, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Governors, and General Counsel and CFO for the Republican Governors Association. Charlie previously served as legal and policy advisor to FEC Chairman Darryl R. Wold.
